We are giving our innocent children haraam (forbidden) substances and harmful chemicals that destroy their natural immune systems, causing disease, suffering and death.  All Muslim doctors and parents should be aware of vaccine ingredients, and of the failed efficacy of vaccines.  The harm is clearly greater than the benefit.  The time has come to take a stand for truth.

Vaccine Ingredients

Vaccine ingredients include heavy metals, pus from sores of diseased animals, horse serum, calf serum, faecal matter, foetal cells, urine, macerated cancer cells, sweepings from diseased children, formaldehyde (a carcinogen used in embalming fluid), phenol (a carcinogen capable of causing paralysis, convulsions, coma, necrosis and gangrene), lactalbumin hydrolysate (an emulsifier), aluminium phosphate (an aluminium salt that is corrosive to tissues), retro-virus SV-40 (a contaminant virus in some polio vaccines), antibiotics (e.g., neomycin tm) that lead to antibiotic resistance, chick embryo (as a growth medium for the virus), sodium phosphate (a buffering salt), and foreign animal tissues containing genetic material (DNA/RNA) from the growth medium.  Vaccines are also contaminated with mycoplasma, bacteria, monkey viruses and various adjuvants.  Heavy metals include thiomersal (mercury) as a preservative and aluminium as an adjuvant.  Mercury and aluminium have each been proved to damage the brain and nervous system.  In some cases, thiomersal has been replaced by another neurotoxin known as 2PE.  Vaccines also contain monosodium glutamate (MSG), sorbitol, and gelatine.  Many of these ingredients are not allowed for Muslims, Jews, Hindus or vegetarians.

A Fatally-flawed System of Intervention

Vaccination is based on the long-discredited theory that stimulation of antibodies in the human body equals protection from disease.  This theory has not only failed to be proved, but has been repeatedly disproved.  Stimulation of antibodies does not equal immunity and certainly does not equal permanent immunity.  The presence of antibodies is merely a sign of exposure to a disease, which is just one small aspect of what makes up the immune system.  Children, with underdeveloped and immature immune systems, receive today about 25 separate vaccines by the age of 13 months.  There is no doubt this irresponsible system disrupts and can even destroy the development of their immune systems forever.

Vaccines commonly given to children in the United Kingdom today include – TWO MONTHS: diphtheria, tetanus, acellular pertussis, HIB meningitis and polio + pneumococcal (six components, two needles); THREE MONTHS: diphtheria, tetanus, acellular pertussis, HIB meningitis and polio + meningitis C (six components, two needles); FOUR MONTHS: diphtheria, tetanus, acellular pertussis, HIB meningitis and polio + pneumococcal + meningitis C (seven components, three needles); 12 MONTHS: HIB meningitis and meningitis C (two components, two needles); 13 MONTHS: measles, mumps, rubella + pneumococcal vaccine (four components, two needles).  This reflects a grave medical assault inflicted on the small, weak, defenceless bodies of our innocent children.

Just a Few of the Monstrous Problems

Unthinkably, vaccine studies do not include placebo groups.  Instead, they use other vaccines in “control” groups, making it impossible to properly note actual rates of adverse events between a test group and real control group.  No research has been done on the long-term effects of vaccines.  Post-marketing data of reactions, injury and death go ignored.  Moreover, the system lacks individualization.  Apparently, one size fits all.  There is no pre-screening for immune problems and allergies.  Overloading the human body with infections and sub-infections will irreparably disrupt and destroy the immune system.  Chemicals in vaccines induce allergies, asthma, and autoimmune disease, including autism.  By the way, don’t let any indoctrinated doctor tell you vaccines do not cause autism.  Do your own research. Sexual immorality and adultery are stirred by offering our daughters HPV vaccination against cervical cancer.  Notably and incredibly, the HPV vaccine is shown to make some recipients even more susceptible to cervical cancer.  According to many scientific reports, there is additional concern that some vaccines cause infertility and are used for clandestine population control.  The proper role of medicine is to work to find and prevent the root cause of disease, not treat symptoms or fill the body with chemicals and vaccines.

Islam and Medical Science Must Oppose Vaccination

The case against vaccination is first an Islamic one, based on Islamic ethos regarding the perfection of the natural human body’s immune defence system, empowered by great and prophetic guidance to avoid most infections.  The case against vaccination is also a medical and health-related one.  Incredible evidence, unbeknownst to most, has emerged in the West regarding the many serious health hazards that affect those who have been vaccinated.

Islam and the Immune System

Colostrum in breast milk, a rich source of myriad antibodies, is extraordinarily important in conveying immunity to the child during the first few days after birth.  Breastfeeding up to two years gives incredible immunity into the future.  Medical studies evidence the amazing protection of breastfeeding against infections, even including poliomyelitis. The first two years of life are a crucial time during which the child’s body will develop a natural and mature immune system.  Vaccination disrupts and damages the natural process of human development.  God (Allah), the Creator, the Designer, has organised for the destruction of most germs and viruses through the natural process of entry-and-defence via skin, mucous, and the stomach. This process is very different from injection of a vaccine directly into the body without crossing natural defence barriers.  Twenty-five weakened diseases are destructively pushed by needlepoint into the bodies of our fragile children at a stage when they are developing their own natural defence systems.Infection and disease are medically proven to regularly succumb to spontaneous, self-remitting recovery.  Childhood bouts with infectious disease help build the immune system against future attacks.  As our beloved physician and prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, has told us, for every disease there is a cure.  The final holy book, Al Qur’an, is an awesome medical source for both prevention and cure of disease.  To best prepare the body, the Muslim should use natural and permissible nutrition from Yayyib (natural) food and drink.  Of further importance, we need to address the root causes of morbidity and mortality: poverty, malnutrition, lack of clean drinking water, lack of a healthy and natural foods, lack of proper sewage, and toxins in the environment and body. The Islamic behaviour of seeking halal (lawful) and avoiding harram has been linked to health throughout time by many Muslim doctors and scientists, especially in the field of preventative medicine.  Great care should be given to personal hygiene, including hand washing at about 25 times per day (15 times before the five daily prayers during wudu [absolution]).  Properly practising daily personal hygiene will avoid many infections.  Many fruits and other healthy foods prescribed in Islam have been found to prevent disease and strengthen the immune system, including olive and olive oil, ginger, grapes, pomegranate, vinegar, rosemary and figs.  Islamic-prescribed complementary medicine protects us from disease and strengthens our natural immune system, including honey, fasting, prayer (meditation), Du’A (special prayer) for the sick, black seed, Hijama (blood cupping), holy fruits and foods, breastfeeding, aromatherapy, Zam Zam (drinking holy water at Makkah, Saudi Arabia at the time of pilgrimage), and laying on of hands with a special prayer.  Frequent exposure to the sun for vitamin D and a diet rich in vitamin D prevents many diseases.  Islam prohibits Muslims from taking any harmful medicine or substance.  Even where there is doubt or controversy, Islam orders us to leave it completely.  This applies to vaccines.

The Truth Be Told

Harram in many vaccines include human foetuses, gelatine from pork, alcohol, and human and animal parts. These najis (unclean), haraam ingredients are not given in a state of emergency to save life at present. It is ridiculous to introduce myriad infective agents into millions of people as a “just in case” prevention of future infection. It is very wrong that Muslim doctors have adopted a medical intervention that contains so many haraams and harmful chemicals.
In Islam, the human body is holy.  We should protect and keep it natural, pure, healthy and safe.  As vaccines are neither pure nor natural, it is no wonder that science and medicine have found them to be so incredibly dangerous. A well-orchestrated pharmaceutical industry plan of scaremongering exists to create fear in parents who do not vaccinate their children.  Doctors and governments have been indoctrinated and corrupted by a gigantic and incredibly powerful industry into advocating obligatory vaccination, contrary to health and human and religious rights. This has happened not to advance health, but for profit.  Vaccines should not be pushed or forced on anyone.

The Case for Opposing Vaccination

  • It disrupts and destroys the natural immune systems of our innocent children
  • It produces many physical and medical problems
  • It increases antibiotic resistance among many patients
  • It can make many people sterile or infertile
  • It contains many harmful chemicals like mercury and aluminium
  • It lacks scientific, independent evidence of efficacy and safety
  • It contains many haraam substances for the 1600 million Muslims in the world (the latest of which is the vaccine for Meningitis for the Muslim Pilgrims who are going to Hajj was found to contain pork, which is harram.)
  • It also contains substances which are prohibited for Jews, Hindus and vegetariansIt is unhygienic and full of filth
  • It wastes trillions of dollars and is making the people and governments in poor third world countries poorer and more in debt, and the drug companies filthy rich
  • It is medically unethical, as it took us away from dealing with the causes of the diseases and work on prevention.  It is a very wrong medical practice to use a vaccine against every ill
  • It lacks transparency and informed consent.  Most parents, the public, and even doctors are not aware of its harms, ingredients and cost
  • A rising number of doctors, health professionals and parents are joining the campaign against vaccination (websites below)
  • We have many natural ways to build a natural strong immune system to fight most infections
  • We have many natural, safe alternatives
  • Incredibly, the Big Pharma producers of vaccines are exempt from any liability or prosecution, regardless of the number of people who die or are injured
  • Our innocent children are suffering and they gave no consent at all for the vaccines forced on them.  This constitutes a medical assault

Parasites: It’s that Time Again

An Ikea garlic press, with pressed garlic.

Just in case the holidays have distracted you, its a little reminder.  It’s Parasite time again.  The full moon is coming in 4 days so if you were waiting for it to begin your next cleanse, the time is now.

Parasitic infections are acquired naturally through foods, other humans or animals. They can  be contracted by playing in soil or walking outside barefoot.  Pets can carry parasites and transmit them to your child if they are not treated for parasites periodically.   Parasites cause disease or illness in our bodies. They contribute to nutritional deficiencies, malabsorption and intestinal dysfunction. Parasites release waste products into your child’s body that can affect health.

Signs that your child needs a cleanse:

Diarrhea
Chronic Constipation
Digestive Problems
Abdominal Pain
Mucus in the Stools
Leaky Gut

Allergies
Itchy Nose
Itchy Anus
Itchy Skin
Hives
Allergic Reactions to Food
Rashes
Weeping Eczema

Mood Swings
Forgetfulness
Unclear Thinking
Restlessness
Anxiety

Insomnia
Teeth Grinding During Sleep
Bed Wetting
Drooling While Asleep
Disturbed Sleep – Multiple Awakenings

Hypoglycemia
Anemia

WEIGHT & APPETITE PROBLEMS – Parasites live undetected by their hosts. They rob the body of all essential nutrients (they get the choicest nutrition from the food you eat) and you are left with the fats, sugars, etc. Many overweight persons are infested with parasites, they stay hungry which leads to overeating because of the parasites. Depending on the type of parasite infestation, many people are malnourished, they can’t gain weight, again, because of the parasites.

Nutrition and Supplements

  • Avoid simple carbohydrates, such as those found in refined foods, fruits, juices, dairy products, and all sugars, except honey.
  • Raw garlic, pumpkin seeds, pomegranates, beets, and carrots,  have been used traditionally to kill parasites. In one study, researchers found that a mixture of honey and papaya seeds cleared stools of parasites in 23 out of 30 subjects. Drink a lot of water to help flush out the system.
  • Fiber, may help get rid of worms.
  • Probiotics (Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacilus plantarum, Saccharomyces boulardii, and bifidobacteria, one to two times per day between meals) help keep the digestive tract healthy.
  • Digestive enzymes will help restore the

intestinal tract to its normal state, which makes it inhospitable to parasites. Papain is an enzyme from the papaya plant that may help kill worms when taken 30 minutes before or after meals.

  • Vitamin C (250 – 500 mg two times a day) or, if well-tolerated, much higher doses of up to 6,000 mg per day in otherwise healthy adults — supports the immune system. Lower vitamin C dose if diarrhea develops.
  • Zinc (20 – 30 mg per day) — also helps support the immune system.

Herbs

Herbs are generally a safe way to strengthen and tone the body’s systems. You may use herbs as dried extracts (capsules, powders, teas), glycerites (glycerine extracts), or tinctures (alcohol extracts).

  • Garlic (Allium sativum)
  • Barberry (Berberis vulgaris)
  • Goldenseal (Hydrastis canadensis)
  • Oregon grape (Berberis aquifolium)
  • Anise (Pimpinella anisum)
  • Wormwood (Artemisia annua)
  • Curled mint (Mentha crispa)
  • Black walnuts (Juglans nigra)
  • Cloves

Homeopathy

Before prescribing a remedy, homeopaths take into account a person’s constitutional type — your physical, emotional, and intellectual makeup. An experienced homeopath assesses all of these factors as well as any current symptoms when determining the most appropriate remedy for a particular individual. The following remedies may be used:

  • Cina
  • Cuprum oxidatum nigrum
  • Indigo
  • Teucrium
  • Podophyllum
  • Spigelia
  • Sabadilla
  • Stanum

Symptoms that occur during a cleanse usually appear during the first 7-10 days:

  • more frequent stools (2-3 times a day) in the first week
  • symptoms of irritability
  • depressed, moody or brain fog
  • fatigue
  • headache

In some cases your child may not have any side effects, but a strong reaction implies a more significant infection, which demonstrates a need for the cleanse. Antioxidants and liver support can be helpful when die off reactions are bothersome.

Autism Study Reveals No Genetic Associations

Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) include everything from the relatively mild Asperger syndrome (characterized by more mild social and language impairments) to full-fledged autism (characterized by severe social and communicative handicaps, limited interests, and repetitive behaviors).  ASD is relatively common, and in the United States it is estimated that one out of every 54 boys is affected (the frequency in girls is considerably lower, averaging one affected girl out of every 252). Although genetics certainly plays a role in these conditions, exactly how is not fully understood, and this newest study, led by Richard Anney (Trinity College of Dublin) and Bernie Devlin (University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine), is the next a long line of scientific inquiries to this point.

Their study, known as the Autism Genome Project (AGP), was conducted in two stages. The first stage of consisted of a genome-wide association study using genetic data from 1400 families affected by autism; the second stage checked the associations discovered in the first stage using the genetic data from an additional 1301 ASD-affected families and included another new genome-wide association study which combined the study subjects from both stages.

When all the analyses were said and done, no SNPs (common genetic variations) were significantly associated with ASD. Furthermore, when some of the SNPs that had been identified in the first study as possibly associated with ASD were tested in the second-stage families, the associations failed to hold up.  This lack of common SNPs associated with ASD is both disappointing and enlightening.

Knowledge of what is not true, paradoxically, is knowledge of what is true.  For instance, if I tell you that my pet Tyger is not a dog, you are one step closer to knowing Tyger’s a cat.  Most of science progresses through “not trues” — the failed hypotheses that bring us closer to real understanding. A perfect example of this mode of scientific progress is this recent genetic study.  Their lack of findings was quite a finding.

The fact that no SNPs were associated with ASD in such a large study suggests that the effect of any one common SNP is quite small. Even when all the SNPs were used together to predict whether a study subject would have ASD, the model explained less than 1% of differences in risk for the condition.

The fact that these common SNPs have little power to predict ASD does not mean that genetics is unimportant.  Twin studies suggest that ASD is at least moderately heritable, suggesting that genetics does play a role.  This current study’s lack of findings supports the idea that common genetic variations may play a smaller role than rare mutations or copy number variation (the number of copies of a given gene) in ASD risk. Thus, the lack of ASD associations today has, hopefully, brought us closer to tomorrow’s discoveries.

Avoiding Autism: What to do when you’re pregnant.

We need to know how to help our autistic children.  Just as important is to avoid it in the first place.  Our future depends on our children and we cannot survive if we continue to allow our children to be so severely affected.

How can we avoid something if we don’t know what is causing it?  We ask the question, “What causes autism?”

It’s a loaded topic.  Filled with politics on all sides.

I hear the debate.  Over diagnosis, vaccines, environment, viruses, Lyme, strep, antibiotics, heavy metals or of course my favorite, evolution.  The theories are never-ending.

The more potential for profit, the more skewed the results of the research.

Our children are being lost in the debate.  The longer this discussion lasts, the more time we take to debate the issue, the more children fade.  Time is of the essence here and we as parents are the first defense our children have against this debilitating event.

We alone are the only wall to shield the next generation from imminent disaster.  We are alone to sort out the best thing to do. We are confused.  Frankly, nobody knows what causes autism.

The players?

  • Genetics: meaning there isn’t much we can do about it right?  Our kids are just born this way, or is something affecting the genes?  If so what?
  • Over diagnosis:  You won’t see many parents of autistic children accepting this one.  Politics might sell it to people who do not know Autism, but the rest of us aren’t buying what they are selling.
  • Vaccines:  Probably a contributor, but if it alone were the cause then we would not have unvaccinated Autistic biomed responders ( like my son).
  • Environment:  while our environment is terribly toxic there are certainly times in our history when the environment was easily as toxic (especially around the middle of the industrial age).

There are more, but I will skip to the point since I am not likely to name them all anyway.  I see desperate parents regularly asking how to avoid autism?

My Opinion:

Autism is iatrogenic.  Meaning: caused by doctors.  Not as individuals necessarily, but certainly as part of the larger system.  I am sure people are tired of hearing rantings over big pharma or discussions on the latest trend of diagnosing people with their symptoms (like my cousin, who took her dd to the doctor after she fainted for no clear reason, only to leave the office with a diagnosis of syncope…?).   I could likely write 20 blog entries complaining about our medical system, lol, but you all know me.  I am too much of a fixer to waste that much time on complaining (I reserve most of my ranting for my lovely family).

So what is the solution?

If your pregnant or thinking of getting pregnant I have a few tips I would recommend.

  1. Do not mess with detoxification unless you have about 18 months afterward.
  2. Get back to basics.  Eat good food not pesticide laden, GMO pseudofood.  Real food the way our grandmothers and our great-grandmothers used to cook.  Boil thee bones to make thy soup and other such nutrient dense real food techniques. Avoid artificial ick and additives, MSG, fake sugars, trans fats and hydrogenated oils, high fructose corn syrup, etc…
  3. Take a decent multi-vitamin to make up for what is lacking in our food.
  4. Fish oil is a must when pregnant: High quality fish oil higher in DHA than EPA (1500 mg DHA / 750 mg EPA is good)
  5. Control the toxic load as much as possible.  Don’t choose now to remodel your house.  Don’t use CFLs.  Stay clear of chlorine bleach, and other chemicals, fluoride, fabric softeners, aluminum and non stick cookware, etc…
  6. Above all stay away from Doctors unless it is absolutely necessary.  DO NOT Vaccinate!  DO NOT take Rx Meds!

Doctors treat disease they do not bestow health.  Do not use medication that is my motto. Doctors can run tests, check your health, and clue you in to a possible disease process. They are however, most beneficial when you are well-informed and do your homework.  and if you find a doctor who is annoyed by your desire to be part of the process, RUN!!!

We use vitamins and herbs at the first sign of illness and we seldom need to go to the doc.  I think the old adage, “An apple a day to keep the doctor away,” was right in one regard.

Keeping the doctor away is of utmost benefit to your health!

Looking for Autism: the saga continues

We are back in school this year as a first grader and I gave the teacher a couple of weeks to settle in before I went in to chat with her.  Since we aren’t homeschooling any more I really need this feedback from someone who deals with him all day long.  Not to mention she sees him with all his other peers where I would expect his deficits to stand out more.

So I asked her how she felt he was doing?  She just looked at me with a puzzled expression and said he is doing great.

ME:  “Ok, so what I mean is on a scale of 1-10 how do you think he is doing socially?”

TEACHER: “He is doing very well he plays with the other kids and enjoys recess and when he chooses to so an activity on his own like read a book he is fine if another student joins him and he returns to the group just like any other student would.”

(Obviously she is not understanding I want to know about his deficits, so I try again)

ME:  “That is great.  But if you had to assign a number to the kids.  and 1 is say this child doesn’t belong in a regular classroom and 10 is perfectly neuro-typical indistinguishable from his peers., and fits in the class exactly as he should  Where would my son fit?”

TEACHER:  “Well, I would say he is maybe a little more mature than the other children in the classroom.  We will know more after they finish the testing on Tuesday, but they might talk to about the possibility of moving him up a grade.”

(Now I am the one with the puzzled look on my face)

ME:  “Well, we did hold him back a year to give him the best chance at catching up socially.”

(but I am thick headed and I came here for a deficit darn it and I am determined to get one)

ME AGAIN:  “I know my son has a little bit of an odd word choice and some precocious language.  I am not really looking for something I need to change, but just something to watch to see how he is progressing.  Can you come up with any kind of behavior or thing that he does that kind of makes him stand out from the other kids a bit.  Something that perhaps could be watched and measured for progress?”

TEACHER:  “Well, I don’t know, I wouldn’t exactly call it a deficit.  In fact it is endearing, but when he gets very happy and excited he kind of jumps up in his chair and squeals with joy.  It is just a moment and it makes the rest of the class happy and laugh and it is contagious.  I really wouldn’t want to see it go away, but is that what you are looking for?”

We finished our conversation with some small talk and she said she would watch him a little closer and if she happened to notice anything she’d make a note of it for me.  I thanked her and assured her that she needn’t go out of her way, but I would be very appreciative of any feedback she had good or bad.

So the question remains.  Where oh where did this elusive Autism gene go?  I mean my son didn’t regress he was born Autistic.  For all intents and purposes he still should be.  Could he really have been cured of Autism.  I mean sure, we have always hoped.  We did biomed and chelated (still chelate) in the hopes that it would get rid of the Autism.  But did I ever really believe it?

No, I am still waiting for it to leap out and bite us in the butt.

I think I have a tiny glimpse into the world of PTSD.  I am still holding my breath and I am still watching and analyzing, and picking up on every possible deficit.  I do this silently to myself (I would not do it in front of my child) because I can’t really imagine that we may see a day without supplements and weekly rounds.

I been eating, drinking, sleeping , and dreaming Autism for so many years.  It is hard to imagine a life without it.  and I have been secretly afraid to actually think it would ever really be gone.

Maybe I can actually let myself hope?

Mitochondrial Disease in Autism Spectrum Disorder Patients: A Cohort Analysis

Logo for mitochondrial DNA

Introduction

Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are neurodevelopmental disorders characterized by impaired social interaction and communication, as well as isolated interests and repetitive or stereotyped behaviors [1]. ASDs pose a significant burden to affected individuals, their families and society. This burden comes both from the debilitating and lifelong nature of ASDs and from their prevalence. It is now estimated that about one out of every 166 children is affected with ASD [2]. Most cases are idiopathic, although there are many uncommon or rare genetic and metabolic causes of autism that are increasingly recognized [3]–[5].

In 1998, Lombard postulated mitochondrial dysfunction as a cause of autism [6]. Prior and subsequent case reports provided biochemical data indicating perturbation of mitochondrial energy metabolism in some individuals with ASD [7]–[12], including mtDNA mutations in several [10], [13], [14]. Recently, Oliveira and colleagues published a population-based survey of school-age children with ASD. They found that 7% of those who were fully tested met criteria for definite mitochondrial respiratory chain disorders and were also clinically indistinguishable from other children with ASD [15]. This work is notable because it suggests that mitochondrial disorders of energy production may be present in a substantial percentage of children with ASD. To better describe the clinical spectrum of children with ‘mitochondrial autism’, we undertook a chart review of the biochemical, genetic, and histopathological findings in 25 patients with ASD who had unequivocal evidence of a disorder of oxidative phosphorylation.

How To Find a Thyroid Doctor

Sometimes it can be difficult to find a doctor knowledgeable in treating children with sub-clinical thyroid disorder.

I generally skip most endocrinologist as they stick pretty closely to text book synthroid.

Naturapathic Doctors and Chiropractors can Rx natural thyroid in some states, However in most they cannot get you the med you need.

After spending money on way to many intake appointments I got smart.  I called the local compounding pharmacies and asked if they ever fill scripts for Armour.  Then asked for referrals.  It can sometimes be necessary to travel a ways to find a doctor (I know parents who have driven 2 hours one way to obtain their thyroid medication).

I have successfully found thyroid doctor for several parents I have consulted with from all over the country.  Remember that often you only need to visit these doctors once per year to maintain your script.

When calling I ask the following questions:

1.  Does the doctor ever prescribe natural thyroid?
2.  Does the doctor consider both test results and symptoms when determining whether or not to treat the thyroid?
3.  Does the doctor feel comfortable treating cases of sub-clinical thyroid in children?

Often the person on the other end will either know right away that the doctor can do this, or they will take your number and call you back.

Once you find a doctor be sure to bring with you a list of your child’s thyroid symptoms and basal temps to your first appointment.

Trying to find the Autism: Theory of Mind

We have had our son tested every few years to see how he is doing/progressing.

I did let the testers know that he had a diagnosis of Autism, but I did not give them the actual tests to look at as I wanted their unbiased assessment on how he was doing at the time of the test.

The past summer (2011) we had him tested by the school district.  They ran all the typical Autism tests, they tested his sensory issues, they even tested his cognitive abilities this time as he was able to read and could get more thorough testing than in previous years.  They then decided to test his speech as well.  We had a total of 5 appointments to complete the variety of tests.

About a week or so after the last test we had the results appointment.  They found that his mispronunciation of the letter “L” was not age appropriate and he qualified for 1 hour per week of speech to address this.

Huh?

Ok and………?   Nothing.  No autism.  No Pdd.  No Aspergers.  Not on the spectrum.  No part time in the Special needs classroom.  No aid or shadow.  Nothing.

There are a lot of parents who claim their child is recovered and I do not make that claim as I can still see a few things that make him look slightly different from his peers (some slight oddness in the way his arms move when he runs, some precocious language, and a sporadically his tone is, well, odd).  So recovered? No, but is there any Autism?

Well another parents mentioned the Sally and Ann test for theory of mind, so I did this with him, fully expecting him to fail.  He passed.  He passed both what is she thinking and what does he think she is thinking.  Wow!

I decided to go a bit further this past week and really see if I could find the Autism.

I searched online and found a variety of links for theory of mind sample tests and questions.  I read him all the questions I could find. In all he took 5 tests and he passed he missed all of 2 questions.  He got questions correct that were labeled as memory (of course this is to be expected as it has always been his strong suit), TOM1, TOM2, and TOM4.

Now these were just internet sample test given by his Mom, but I tend to be hard.  I did not give him any clues or repeat options when he got one wrong.  I was really looking for some measure to go by to watch these last skills come online.  See we started by using the ATEC (his first score was132), when he scored 0 on that we went to the child brain pdd test.  he started in the 70’s on that test.  When that went to 0 I had nothing else to use, this is what prompted me to look for these TOM questions.  Now I am just at a loss.

I can see the Autism in his slight oddness of posture and word/phrase selection, but I can’t seem to get a handle on anything else.

Could that really be all we have left to address………………………?  I suppose only time will tell.

I have to fix this, me and only me (cont.)

continued from post https://throughthepuzzle.com/2012/05/06/i-have-to-fix-this-me-and-only-me/

(Religious Post Follows)

As I said in my earlier post.  I was teetering on the brink….. of what?  Who knows, but it was not going to be pretty.

Some people have tons of friends.  I on the other hand could never be described as Ms popularity.  I can always find people to chat with, but I do not make many real friendships.  You know…. the ones with substance.  Over the years I have been blessed with a few wonderful people in my life though.

My very good friends (the ones I truly value) are the people who can tell me when I am not thinking straight.  When I am making mistakes.  They are the ones who care enough to give me a dose of reality when I seriously need it.  (Even if I don’t want it).  Here’s hoping you all have friends like that.

Well, I was talking to one of my best friend during this time and I will never forget the impact of her words.  I think she saved my life.

In a nutshell she said, “Who do you think you are anyway?”

“What makes you think you have the power to fix anything?”

“Don’t you think that’s just a little arrogant?”

She was so right.  I had lost sight of the truth.  I can not control the future. I can not fix my child. I do not hold the key to life or health or anything else in the palm of my hand.  I can not cure.  And my child’s future was written long before any of us even existed.  That thought was so comforting.  The extreme pressure that I was feeling was instantly gone. This is God’s plan.  It is divine decree.  We give the supplements, but God cures.

But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thingand it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not” [Qur’an 2:216]

Indeed Autism has been one of the best things that could have happened to our family.  I say that knowing full well how much I hate it.  But God has granted us healing and we have found the way out.  Every member in my family has benefited, all six of my children, even my husband (who is also chelating).  And in this process, I have been blessed with the ability to help families all over the globe.  I pass on this information, just as it was passed on to me, and there is hope for the future of our children, by the will of God.  Al Hamdulillah!

Chalkboard Campaign

This is an amazing vaccine awareness video from Rebecca F. of Regarding Caroline. Share it with anyone out there you know is interested in the vaccine debate.  After you watch the video go to The Chalkboard Campaign for one of the best most credible presentations of vaccine awareness information I have ever come across.  She has compiled a wonderful bunch of research and coupled it with a beautiful presentation.

Adrenal Fatigue: Something was very wrong.

When we started AC chelation our dose was a bit too high.  Remnants of our old DAN!s protocol still lingered in my mind. I mean 1/2 mg per pound for three days is pretty close to 10 mg per pound every third day.  So we started at just under 25 mg per dose of ALA and DMSA together.

The changes we were seeing were amazing.  In only three rounds he had increased conversational language, he was more social, more tuned in.  He was listening.

This child who wouldn’t respond until you had called his name 15 times…. this child who was content just to stimm all day on the computer (unless he was running off or tantrumming of course)…. this child who scripted all day and all night without meaning to his words… this child was in the living room minding his own business and his mother and father were talking among themselves at the kitchen table.

We were having a normal conversation in average tones, and we were talking about him.  I do not recall which of us used his name, but he heard it and from the other room he yelled, “Coming!”  Only to appear in the doorway a moment later and say, “you called me?”

It was incredible.  We were doing something soooo right.  Amazing.

On the other hand, something we were doing was sooo wrong….

He was whiny, clingy (this from a child who never wanted to be held), sad…..  He cried so easily, and the mood swings were drastic.  On minute he was fine and the next was a complete meltdown over some tiny thing like dropping his toy.

We also had a return of a very old behavior.  When he was younger he used to crawl along the floor with his head on the carpet sliding it along the ground.  It was a very odd behavior that we were happy to see go away and very unhappy to see return.  He was also turning upside down a lot.  He did hand stands on the wall, on the couch, in the chair.  This wasn’t completely abnormal for him as it was part of his trouble with vestibular sensory processing issues, but it had increased substantially.

I was on a mission to figure out how to keep our wonderful gains, but get rid of these awful side effects.

It was suggested that some of the behaviors we were seeing were headaches do to dosing to high.  We lowered the dose down to 1/4 mg per pound and the crawling along on his head and increased headstands stopped.  Yeah!  one piece solved.

A parent in one of the groups I was part of mentioned Adrenal fatigue, so it was back to the books.

That is when we discovered ACE.

Adrenal cortex was our happy pill.

I began by giving ACE in the morning, starting slowly and increasing by 1/2 cap at a time.  We decided to follow Andy’s timing recommendations for Hydrocortisone.  (between 7-8 in the am, around noon, and between 5-6 in the pm).  This worked like a dream.

All his increased whiny, fearful meltdown behavior stopped (we still had meltdowns, but they were back to the regular kind we had grown accustomed to).

The something very wrong was solved.  Of course he had adrenal fatigue even before we were chelating we just didn’t know it.  So we got bonus result from this wonderful little supplement.

My son never slept.  We struggled with it for years.  It didn’t matter what time I laid him down, he was up until at least midnight, sometimes 1 am.  Then he would wake up again at 3am or 4am.  He would be wide awake, ready for the day, full of vim and vinegar.  uggg.

Of course he was down for a nap around 8am but by then it was too late for me.  I was chronically sleep deprived.  All we ever heard about was melatonin.  I would dose it before bed, and then often again in the night.  It would work for a week or two, then it would start to make sleep worse and we would stop using it.  A couple of weeks later we could bring it back again.  It was a never-ending cycle we had gone through for years.

But when we started the ACE the most marvelous thing happened.  He slept through the night.  It was still a struggle to get him to fall asleep, but there were no more night wakings.  This was one of the biggest gifts I could get.  Better than winning the lottery any day.

Die Off?

How long (typically)does it take for natural antifungals (such as GSE) to begin working?

If you are using a high enough dose you should see some response right away. Often in hours. the difficulty in the beginning is knowing to right dose.

You have to take it slowly at first then I ramp up quickly. I hate to cause them unnecessary discomfort, but I also don’t want to go so slow that it takes weeks to get a handle on things.

It really should take but a few days to get a decent control over yeast once you find the right dose. It could take as much as a couple of weeks but there is absolutely no reason for it to take longer than that.

Initially you can get some gas and bloating, I would increase a bit if these were the only symptoms. If you see mushy stools or rash, other definite die off symptoms then you are probably good to hold at that dose.

Yeast isn’t something you treat once then move on.  While Chelating we have to find a maintenance dose to keep it at bay until we have removed enough metals through chelating that the body can control it.  After a very long and arduous battle with yeast we are finally yeast free after 100+ rounds of chelation.

(A post I wrote in 2010 about our past experiences with die off.)

Die off isn’t something to be afraid of, just prepared for. LOL I don’t say this lightly.

I still remember the first time I treated yeast in my kiddo,  I used OLE and GSE and just a few drops of each, he got sick (of course it was the very first time we ever dealt with his yeast and he was full of the stuff). After day three he got sick and I was at home in the middle of the night with a puking, diarrhea having, screaming inconsolable baby with a hurting belly. Biomed was new to me and I was still nervous and I was afraid I had poisoned my baby. I was considering taking him to the emergency room and then I was afraid someone would turn me in for child abuse, it was very frightening. I actually called a mother from one of my yahoo groups at 4:00am (which is unlike me).

I only mention this story because I want you to know that I understand being hesitant and nervous about yeast. The thing you have to realize is that your child will be so much happier when all those toxins aren’t harming his system on a daily basis. Anti-fungals don’t cause any reaction if there is no yeast issue. If there is a yeast problem you need to get it under control for the comfort of your kid.

I would definitely start to control yeast before a round of chelation as moving metals grows yeast. Yeast/die off isn’t to be feared it is to be conquered, lol.

I think most cases of months of die off are either, not really die off or not an aggressive enough approach.
